LOL I'm easy. If it doesn't say Beringer I won't buy it. There is this big Oak tree at the winery that sent roots into the wine cellars and drained a bunch of casks before it was discovered. I don't know if that's a good endorsement or not, but I like it.

  miklkit, we finally agree. Beringer used to make the best gamay beaujolais around but since it became illegal to give that name to any wine produced outside the Beaujolais villages in France in 2007 I now have to import it. What a shame. Beringer is a fine winery.

Nice article. Dust on any wine on a store really turns me off. Makes me wonder how long has it been there.

  Regarding the "dusty bottle"-
  I lived in Detroit for many years. The liquor stores in some areas once catered to an exclusive clientele, but that group had fled to the burbs long ago. Ownership changed, and often one could find real treasures in the discount bins. I can still remember snagging a $5 premiere cru Chablis that was easily worth 5 - 10 times that much, and an aged to perfection Chateau Haut-Peyreguey sauterne for a couple of bucks in the discount bin.
  Of course, the factor of age made it a crapshoot, as even the best wines can oxidize with poor storage. But it's often worth a $2 gamble to give that dusty bottle a second look.

Hell, the empty bottle costs $3, i'm not sure I'd want a $3.99 bottle in my house!
