Adding SALT to pepper sauce? It's already about 10% salt out of the bottle. As far as adding paprika, cayenne, or black pepper, why bother? This extra salt recipe comes from a site with "health" in the title?
The original recipe is hot sauce and butter.
The marinade idea royally sucks. It would be better to just brush the wings with a little oil (or not) and bake them for about 40 minutes, then coat them with the sauce like the original, and best, recipe.

As a professional chef I take issue with letting the wings marinate at room temperature. The marinade will kill the salmonella on the outside but it will still be working it's mojo on the inside.
Here's my take on buffalo wings:
Trim you wings and and toss them with a little kosher salt, chopped garlic, pepper, cumin and lemon juice. Let them marinate for an hour or so (in the refrigerator)
In a large bowl mix melted butter, and hot sauce (Texas Pete is my favorite).
Bake the wings until they are done. (pierce them at the thickest part and the liquid should run clear)
Put the wings while hot in the bowl of sauce and toss them until they are coated. Serve immediately with blue cheese dressing and plenty of napkins.
