Um, yeah the important detail here is that the vines probably won't be planted until 2012. Sometimes la belle France is a little slow on the uptake. That said, the Champagne region is lovely and still has pockets of Champagne grape vineyards that aren't too touristy especially during the off season.

Who needs 'em? The Chandon product from California is perfectly fine. And, a nice (and quite inexpensive) bottle of Freixenet is also pretty good. That is, as long as you are shopping for what's INSIDE the bottle and not what's on the OUTSIDE...

I always drink Champagne from my girlfriends left shoe. Most all brands tend to taste about the same.

            Blackbeard.

One issue is French policies in the past, driven by government at the moment.

An other issue is the French people.

People in the word may not like the American government, but the intelligent ones know the American people is different.

If I had the money--I would bring every fallen GI from all wars buried on French soil, back to this country, and have them buried in an honorable land..Mr. Gates could do this...

Honerable land, now theres something to make you laugh. What makes you think most of the families would want there dead moved from France. But then you you wouldn`t care if you had the money what others might think.

C'est de bonnes nouvelles pour des buveurs de chanpagne.

Y que pasa con los que prefieren tequila?

The shortage of grapes for Champagne and agave for Tequila, is leading to a shortage of both.

                  Prices up. (Market dynamics.)

It is the opportunity for other countries including the USA. to enter the competition.

We could deliver products equal or superior to the originals from France or Mexico.
