Who could have known that a cup of java would lead to this type of commercialism. I'm a Stumptown fan myself. The energy drinks--I don't need 'em.

A 36 ounce coffee in one hand and a caffeinated bear claw in the other. I'll be dead by 40.

"Oatmeal, that staid breakfast food, now comes in a caffeinated version called "Morning Spark,"

      Oh WOW!

I think I would rather have my caffine next to my oats rather than in them. It just wouldn't be the same as a mug of coffee.

I do not feel a thing from the energy drinks. If they have ginseng and guarana in them it takes the pain away from my joints. I wonder why that is??

The way things are going, they should just invent a caffeine inhaler, stick it in your pocket, pull it out every few hours, take it hit...and voila. Or better yet, they've already invented alcohol in vapor form, why not caffeine?

Great. Just what I needed. Those of us with a sensitivity to caffeine will have to be extra careful. A shot of caffeine makes my heart race to point where I think I'm having a heart attack. The worst situation is getting a server in a cafe or restaurant who cannot be bothered to brew decaf, and giving you regular coffee while assuring you it isn't. I've had a couple of unpleasant situations. There must be more than a few people out there who have the same problem.

I agree. I try to avoid caffeine like the plague! Not that it makes my heart race, it's just that I truly don't believe caffeine is good for you. Period. Caffeine is one of the many causes of headaches and irritable mood swings. If people would just stick to a healthy diet containing lots of fruits and veggies and whole grains, they wouldn't need their daily dosage of coffee every morning.

It also irritates me when I order a diet soda somewhere. Often the person may not hear this at a drive through or just not care. What if they did this to a diabetic?

I think there should be more choices for people who do not want to drink sugared soda. Most places serve only diet soda with caffeine. Juices should be available too.

My favorite caffeinated product to date has been the caffeinated soap.

Now i just need caffeinated shampoo, caffeinated toilet paper, and caffeinated shaving cream and i should be all set.

What about the caffeinated beer on the market? Now you can get loopy and motivated all at the same time. They'll probably market it to the Nascar fans.

The same is happening here in the Uk. A few years ago my town (Chelmsford) had no coffee shops, now there must be more than 10. Coffee shops are now on the high street, inside bookshops, supermarkets, they are everywhere. But I think it is a good thing. People now have somewhere other than a pub they can go to for a quiet drink. Most are non-smoking, whereas most pubs are not, and they all have some food on offer all day (whereas most pubs do not). We now have the option to stop for something to eat, or a coffee, whereas a few years ago the only option was a drink in a pub or a burger from a fast food shop. Progress is good I think.
